How much does a website cost in 2026?
In Czechia and Slovakia, a template site from a freelancer starts at a few hundred euros. A custom company website from a studio or agency costs a few thousand. Bigger sites with a CMS, several languages and motion reach five figures. Then add running costs every year. Our own packages start at €3,900, ready in 2 to 3 weeks.
What does a website cost in Czechia and Slovakia?
It depends on who builds it and how much of it is made for you. Here's the market in one table.
| Who builds it | Czechia | Slovakia | Time | What you usually get |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| You, on a site builder | Wix plans from about €190 to €320 a year (wix.com, USD reference prices, October 2026) | Same plans | A few days of your own time | A template, your words and photos, no strategy |
| Freelancer | Up to about 30 000 Kč (webfusion.cz, January 2026) | €600 to €1,800 for a small company site (spacesolutions.sk, October 2026). Median starting price €440 across 29 price lists (resulty.sk, October 2026) | Depends on the person and their queue | One person, often a template. Design or build, not always both |
| Small studio | 100 000 to 250 000 Kč for a custom company site with CMS (anfilov.cz, April 2026) | €1,000 to €3,500 from a small agency (goldcat.sk, 2026) | 2 to 12 weeks at Farover | Custom design and build, a CMS your team can edit |
| Agency | 120 000 to 300 000 Kč for a custom company site with CMS (Clutch). High-end from 400 000 Kč (webfusion.cz, January 2026) | Company sites €1,200 to €3,000, premium sites €2,500 to €8,000 (spacesolutions.sk, October 2026) | Usually longer: proposals, approvals and handoffs between teams | Strategy, account managers, separate design and development teams |
| In-house hire | A web designer earns 43 561 to 101 088 Kč gross a month, middle 80% (Platy.cz), plus 33.8% employer contributions | €1,208 to €3,077 gross a month, middle 80% (Platy.sk), plus 36.2% employer contributions | Ongoing | One person on your team, usually one skill set |
Two things to know before you compare price lists. A "from" price is the cheapest version of the cheapest package. And it rarely includes the words, the photos, a second language or what the site costs to run next year.
Why are quotes so far apart?
Because "a new website" can mean three very different jobs:
- A template with your logo. A few pages, your text pasted in.
- A custom company site. Designed for your business, built on a CMS your team edits, with redirects from your old site so you keep your Google rankings.
- A full project. A brand refresh, 20 pages, two languages, a custom calculator and motion.
All three get called "a website". The price follows the thinking: structure, words, a design made for you, and how easily your team can edit it later.
Ask every bidder the same five questions:
- How many pages and page templates are included?
- Who writes the copy?
- Which platform, and who pays for it each year?
- What happens to our old URLs and rankings?
- What's included after launch?
If two quotes answer these differently, you're not comparing the same thing.
What pushes the price up?
Page count, how custom the design is, and everything on top. Here's how our calculator prices each driver, as a worked example. Other studios charge differently, but the drivers are the same everywhere.
| Driver | In our calculator | Why it costs more |
|---|---|---|
| Pages | 1 page €2,500 · up to 5 €4,900 · up to 10 €7,000 · up to 20 €10,000 · up to 30 €13,000 | Each template is designed, built and tested on mobile |
| Design level | Tested sections 20% less · fully custom as above · art-directed with a design system 35% more | More design decisions, more states, more QA |
| Extra language | +15% of design and build, per language | Layouts, menus and SEO set up again per language |
| CMS collections | +€1,500 | Case studies, team, jobs or events your team adds without us |
| Motion | Interactive +€1,400 · signature +€2,900 | Scroll stories and custom hero animation take design and build time |
| Brand | Refresh +€3,500 · new identity +€7,500 | Logo, type, colour and rules come before the site |
| Moving platforms | WordPress +€600 · Wix, Squarespace, Webflow or Framer +€400 · Shopify +€900 | Content export, cleanup and redirects |
| Custom tool | +€2,500 | A calculator, configurator or quiz is a small product |
| Integrations | +€400 each | CRM, booking, newsletter |
| Fast-track | +25%, about 30% faster | The same work in less calendar time |
One tip for counting pages: count templates, not blog posts. A blog is one page.
What shouldn't cost extra: SEO basics. Structured data, a sitemap, clean URLs and redirects from your old site belong in every quote, not on an add-on list.
What do our packages cost?
| Launch | Studio | Flagship | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | from €3,900 | from €9,900 | from €19,900 |
| Time | 2 to 3 weeks | 4 to 6 weeks | 8 to 12 weeks |
| Pages | up to 5 | up to 10 | up to 20 |
| Design | Our tested sections, tailored to your brand | Fully custom | Art-directed, with a design system |
| Best for | A first proper website | Growing companies whose site lags behind | SaaS, scale-ups, events |
Four real estimates from our calculator:
- A one-page landing page: €2,500 to €2,900, 1 to 2 weeks.
- Launch with a second language: €4,100 to €5,200, 3 to 4 weeks.
- A 12-page redesign that moves off WordPress, fully custom, with collections and interactive motion: €12,200 to €15,500, 6 to 10 weeks.
- Flagship with a brand refresh or a custom tool: usually €23,000 to €27,000.
Every project includes a fixed price agreed up front, two revision rounds per phase, SEO and AI-search basics, analytics, a handover video, 30 days of support and full ownership of everything we make.
If you have a steady stream of design work rather than one project, look at a subscription instead: €3,900 a month for design, €6,900 a month for design and build. No lock-in, one month's notice.
What does a website cost to run each year?
The build is a one-off. These come back every year.
| Item | What it covers | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Domain | Your.cz,.sk or.com address | A.sk or.com domain renews at about €17 to €18 a year before VAT (Websupport, October 2026) |
| Webflow | Site plan with CMS and hosting | About €160 to €270 a year: Basic $15 or Premium (with CMS) $25 a month, billed yearly (Webflow, October 2026) |
| Framer | Site plan with hosting | About €110 to €320 a year: Basic $10 or Pro $30 a month, billed yearly (Framer, October 2026) |
| Astro + Sanity | Hosting and CMS | €0 to about €220 a year: Sanity's free plan, plus free hosting or Vercel Pro at $20 a month (Sanity, Vercel, October 2026) |
| WordPress | Hosting, premium plugins, updates | Shared hosting at about 66 to 242 Kč a month with VAT after the first year (Vedos, October 2026), plus plugin licences |
| Care | Updates, backups, monitoring, small changes | Our Care plan: from €290 a month |
WordPress itself is free, but it needs looking after. Patchstack counted 11,334 new vulnerabilities in the WordPress ecosystem in 2025, 42% more than in 2024, and 91% of them were in plugins (Patchstack, February 2026). Someone has to apply those updates, and their time is a running cost too. On Webflow and Framer, the platform handles hosting and security, and you pay for that in the plan.
Is the price with or without VAT?
Always ask. From a local VAT-registered supplier, a quote of €5,000 before VAT is €6,050 in Czechia and €6,150 in Slovakia.
- Standard VAT rates: 21% in Czechia, 23% in Slovakia (Your Europe, checked July 2026). Slovakia moved to 23% on 1 January 2025 (Stripe, February 2026).
- Small suppliers may not add VAT at all. Registration kicks in above CZK 2 million of turnover in a calendar year in Czechia (PwC, July 2026) and above €50,000 in Slovakia (Stripe, February 2026).
- Buying across the border. If you're a business buying services from a supplier in another EU country, you usually account for the VAT in your own country under the reverse charge (Your Europe, checked July 2026). Your accountant will confirm the details for your company.
Our prices are final.
Freelancer, studio or agency: which one fits?
- A freelancer fits a small, clear job and a tight budget. Ask who handles the build if they're a designer, and the design if they're a developer.
- A small studio fits a company site that needs real design and a solid build, without agency overhead. You talk to the people doing the work.
- An agency fits when you need many disciplines at once: research, campaigns, a big team. You also pay for account managers and coordination.
- A site builder fits when you have more time than budget and a simple offer.
The cheapest option is rarely the cheapest over three years. A site your team can't edit means paying someone for every change. A site that loses its Google rankings in a move costs you leads you'll never see.
What we'd do
If you're a local business or a new company, start with Launch at €3,900 and put any spare budget into good photos and clear words. If your site is already behind the business, Studio is the package we built for that. Whatever you pick, get three quotes, ask the five questions above and compare running costs, not only the build price.
